Sustainable farming for a happier planet and tastier beef

Taking a dramatic turn from corporate to farm life, Benita and Damian started a new adventure with a mission to nurture their newly purchased 140 acres through sustainable agricultural practices, and raise miniature and full sized Galloway with the finest genetics.

The challenge was to create a premium brand that would reflect the care they put into both their land and the Galloway they raise. They wanted the brand to reflect the Galloway's unique Scottish heritage and seamlessly flow across the information and events they have around sustainable farming, their produce driven Galloway beef sales, and the miniature Galloway they sell to small landholders, while looking premium and high end.

During the research phase, I immediately noticed a lack of strong, clean icons or typeface - this provided a perfect opportunity to ensure Bollygum Farm stood out.

I went through many design variations for the icon , exploring celtic knots, badges, and simple shapes of cows and seedlings. Through this exploration, I started to notice similarities between the shape for the cow's head seedlings. As soon as I found the perfect way to combine the two, it was a total AHA! moment.

During the research phase, I immediately noticed a lack of strong and clean icons or typeface and knew that Bollygum Farm would really benefit from having having these to really make them stand out. Starting with the icon, I went through many design variations, exploring celtic knots, badges, and simple shapes of cows and seedlings. Through this exploration, I started to notice similarities between the shape for the cow's head and the composition of the seedlings. As soon as I found the perfect way to combine the two, it was a total AHA! moment.
